Following a successful 800m (see below), I decided that the 5000m would be a good lactate threshold session to finish off with. I knew Grant McLean was entered and I thought I could help set a suitable pace for him. From the gun Grant and I traded off laps on pace for close to 16 minutes. Towards the end I started to get into a comfortable rhythm and slowly pulled away from Grant to win by 100m. This race was a great way to finish the day after the 800m and also gave me two Wellington titles for the year.
