Being my first race after arriving from altitude I was a little anxious about what kind of performance I would start off with. My warm up felt really good and I decided I would just go with the pace if I could. At 200m I was in last place in a split of 27 seconds. By the 400m mark I had moved up one place and came through in 58 seconds. The next lap was slower and I moved up another place to come through in 1:58.5, faster than ever before in a 1500m. I felt very good with about 600m to go and I started to pick up the intensity. With 400m to go I was in 9th place and the time was at 2:42. I passed several runners down the back straight and stayed very strong all the way to the finish in 3:41. I was extremely happy with this time following the travel from the USA and the lack of quality track work.
