Along with 9000 others I successfully completed the 7.1km course from Frank Kitts Park in Wellington to Kilbirnie. I enjoy participating in these events and this year I managed to fit it in to my training for the week. Despite some delays at the start things got underway without incident and a small group established itself at the front by the first kilometre. By the third kilometre I began to pull away and slowly built up a lead that I held to the finish. Tim Hodge ran excellent for a third place finish behind Bruce Odams. I wore my REESBUCK.com shirt at this race and got a munber of e-mails from well wishers as I prepared for the world cross country champs.
